The Institute for Small and Rural Districts (ISRD) project provides training and technical assistance designed to support positive outcomes for students with disabilities and their families across a network of fifty-four (54) small and rural Florida school districts. The project assists district-level administrators as they implement the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) regulations and the Florida State Performance Plan (SPP).
Working in collaboration with the Florida Department of Education and The Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services (BEESS), the goal of The ISRD Project is to enhance overall services to students with disabilities and those at risk to increase student performance.
Heartland Region
Heartland Educational Consortium (HEC) is a legislatively-funded, PK-12 educational service agency dedicated to serving, supporting, and strengthening small, rural districts in the Heartland region of Florida. We provide collective cost sharing of research-based resources, support high-quality teaching, and build capacity with collaboration across districts.
Panhandle Region
Panhandle Area Educational Consortium was established in 1967 to serve the students and communities in Northwest Florida. PAEC is one of three legislatively created Educational Consortium in Florida. We are proudly led by our members, and we work to meet the unique needs of our small, rural school districts by providing a mix of high-quality services, vigorous advocacy, and forward-looking leadership. PAEC facilitates district collaboration, fosters shared services, and develops talent at every level of our member districts. We serve 15-member districts, representing over 48,000 students, as well as many other non-member districts that purchase services. PAEC proudly serves the school districts of Calhoun, Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, Jefferson, Liberty, Madison, Taylor, Wakulla, Walton, Washington Counties, FSU Collegiate School (FSU-Bay) and the FAMU-Developmental Research School.
North East Region
The Consortium is a regional, non-profit, educational service agency established to provide cooperative services to small and rural member districts. It exercises no control over its clients, is non-regulatory, and has no taxing authority. Participation in programs and services through the Consortium is completely voluntary. Therefore, the Consortium is designed to be sensitive and responsive to the needs and desires of the school districts being served.
